A new toy and lots of rain

I got a new work tool (toy) yesterday and love it! I've already used it several times to track down problem wiring. It is a Klein Tools clamp multi-meter, it will test both AC and DC wiring for continuity, amps, load, resistance (which is futile) and lots of other electrical terms I don't really understand... It had decent instructions and with some help from the web I will figure it all out. The goal was to get the rear AC unit working but it has rained every day for the last 3 days. It usually clears up in the afternoon but then I'm too tired to do anything...

Another day in Beaumont TX

I was able to fix the front door yesterday after pulling it apart and greasing up all the parts inside along with adjusting the linkage. Springs seemed to work fine just the linkages had gotten loose.
I also moved the computer monitor stand about 6 inches over and moved the computer theatre server to the floor behind my barrel chair. Much better and we basically were able to clear off the table between the chairs so we have somewhere to put plates since we never use the table to eat at...
Got the front AC working on Monday after totally rewiring it! Someone had it on an accessory switch up front so it would intermittently not work... without the switch it comes on and cools just fine.

You can't really see it in the picture but the wiring is much better now that it is straightened up!
We also moved the big MFC printer to the upper middle cabinet (can barely see it in the photo). This cleared off the front dash for us.

Tearing out the dash and Dish Network TV

I started tearing into the radio yesterday and it is a big mess! There are old wires just hanging everywhere. I tossed the old Kenwood Cassette player and am thinking of keeping the newer CD player/AM/FM radio and maybe adding an MP3 plug to it for the iPhones or a bluetooth adapter, I have one that might work.
The Kenwood amp I think is dead, it is 23 years old after all...

The Dish Network guy came by and setup the dish and installed the wiring and a Hopper Sling box today. There are a ton of channels for $70 per month so we will have to figure out what we want, definitely not that many.
The movie channels might be nice and might offset the cost of internet service for downloading from iTunes and Netflix. The Hopper seems to work well but I have not delved into it too deeply yet.
